Well once I started trying to find a repair for my Xbox 360 RROD, I felt overwhelmed by most of the information on the market. The 3 that I am about to review are what seem like typically the most popular (and many times most ridiculous). I must say I will rate this as the 2nd most idiotic Xbox 360 Red Ring of Death fix of the three in consideration. Recommendation: Don't use this repair. Number #2 - The Ice Bath - I wouldn't even wish to explain how to do this. Basically, a rubbermaid tub is full of ice water, some vinegar is put in, the Xbox 360 is unplugged and submerged within the water/vinegar blend. After so many minutes the console is removed, drained of water and promptly plugged back in. Need I say more. I actually heard about a kid who attempted this and was severely shocked. This as lots of other fixes was presented as a youtube video. Really it is quite irresponsible and really should be deleted. This fix is the most preposterous repair of the three in consideration. Suggestion: Never even give thought to using this repair for those who value your life. Number #3 - X-Clamp Fix - This is the only authentic repair I have discovered thus far. It truly is as permanent as it gets. Don't use it if however your Xbox 360 is still under warranty. Send the console back to Microsoft and let them honor the warranty. Nonetheless, when the seal is broken and/or it may not be under warranty this repair is the best option.
